Back in 1987 the church felt that a program was needed to provide fellowship and ministry to the senior adults of the church.Mr. John Stell did a survey to determine how many senior adult members were at Eastwood that would be supportive of the program. 

The first meeting of the SAM group was in March of 1987 in room 102. Elections were held and Mr. Zelmer Rock was elected President and he served two terms. Vernal Dillon was elected Secretary and Becky Trimble was elected Program and Activity Chairman.

Several programs and projects have been added to the ministry since it was started such as “The Pass It Along Ministry” and “The Shut-In Ministry.” Also, several trips have been made. We currently are involved in painting and restoration of the church facilities. We also purchased appliances and equipped the kitchen in the New Life Center.

Our program is scheduled for the 2^nd Thursday of each month at 11:00 a.m.with different exciting speakers, musical entertainment and, of course, a delicious potluck dinner.
